As singing teachers, vocal coaches and choir leaders, we need a confidence boost occasionally. We spend our days giving feedback, but how often do we get feedback on our own teaching? Almost never.

We’ll unpick the difference between the long-term role of a singing teacher and the short-term, outcome-focused role of a vocal coach – and show you how to switch hats when needed.
Working across genres
From classical to musical theatre to CCM styles, you’ll learn how to identify the style parameters and guide singers confidently, even if it’s not your home genre.
Tools for structure and flow
Discover how to balance moment-to-moment responsiveness with a clear, structured lesson plan. You’ll leave with strategies for both one-to-one lessons and group teaching.
Sharper diagnostic and listening skills
Through masterclasses and peer feedback, you’ll strengthen your ability to hear what’s really happening – from diction and legato to agility and vowel shaping.
Reflective practice
You’ll learn how to separate your “brain dump” (all your thoughts and ideas) from what the student actually needs, and how to prioritise one thing at a time.
