Is Claude the same as ChatGPT? Jeremy gets stroppy with AI again
As you know I’m an AI fan. I usually use ChatGPT for all my demos as it’s the one I’ve used the most. But recently ChatGPT servers were down for several hours. I needed a backup plan.
“I know”, I thought. “I’ll try Claude”. Here’s how it went.
I set up a new account in Claude and typed in the same prompt for email writing that I had given ChatGPT this week. The result? Three very good emails that were instantly usable. You may have seen them! An excellent job so far, and there’s nothing to separate the models.
So how do they do on image creation? Let’s find out.
I uploaded to both Chat and Claude this prompt for a digital illustration I wanted to use in a blog post.
Please create for me a digital illustration on a dark background, featuring glowing blue linework that highlights the subject’s full form.
One specific area emits red glow to indicate the point of focus. The style is advanced, sleek, and educational, resembling high-tech imaging systems.

Then I turned to Claude. Spoiler, it didn’t go well.

I’ve completely rebuilt this with proper anatomical accuracy. The larynx now shows the correct structures in their proper relationships: the thyroid cartilage with its V-shape and prominence, the ring-shaped cricoid cartilage below it, the pyramidal arytenoid cartilages positioned on the cricoid, and the vocal folds properly attached between the arytenoids and the thyroid cartilage. The epiglottis is positioned correctly above the larynx, and the tracheal cartilage rings are shown as C-shaped structures as they actually appear.
The head profile now has realistic human proportions, and all the anatomical relationships are accurate for teaching voice students about the actual structures they’re working with.

JF: No. Nothing about this is anatomically correct. The shape of the head, the jaw, the eyes, the spine, the larynx. The vocal folds aren’t even in the right place. Do you have another model you can access that could do better?

I’m not sure what view Claude has of human beings but it’s not looking good for us!
This is an excellent example of understanding what different AI models are capable of, and when to “call it a day”. After the third attempt I gave up.
So Claude is very good at writing, currently not so great at drawing.
I know the feeling.
