Q: How long are the Q&A sessions?

Most Q&As run about an hour. We usually fit in several questions, and the Q&As are flexible enough to follow the real learning moments that emerge in discussion. Many teachers say the tangents - the "aha" detours into posture, resonance or mindset - are the most valuable part.

Q: Can I ask my own questions?

Absolutely - that's the heart of the Q&A. We encourage you to bring your most pressing questions, whether it's "Why does my student sound nasal?" or "How do I explain the handover between M1 and M2?" Even if you can't attend live, you can send your question in ahead of time and hear it answered on the replay.

Q: Do I need a science background to understand the Q&As?

Not at all. The sessions draw on voice science and research, but everything is explained in plain, accessible language. Gillyanne and Jeremy are both professional writers and specialise in breaking down complex tasks and concepts into easy-to-understand tools, exercises and sequences. You'll come away not just knowing the theory, but also knowing how to create and use clear teaching tools for singers of any level.

Q: What kind of topics are covered?

Anything people bring to the table. Recent Q&As have gone deep into hydration myths, the fine balance of ThyroArytenoid (TA) and CricoThyroid (CT) muscles in register shifts, nasality versus resonance, how to use straws effectively, posture and alignment myths, and even how to build rapport in job interviews. Every session brings up questions you'll recognise from your own studio - and answers you use the very next day.

Q: I'm dyslexic. Will I be supported?

Yes. You don't have to write your assessments - you can use vlogs, demonstrations, recorded reflections, even a podcast to share your thoughts. We include multiple formats for learning including live sessions, recordings, visual resources and guides so you can choose what works best for you. Your mentors will help you structure ideas or process information in ways that support your strengths.
